Trunk Door/back Door By Remote

hi toyota experts,

I recently bought a toyota avensis 1.8 GS VVT-I and this car is a real art. I started to read the manual, however got completely bowled out by its complicated security system !

I found out that there are 2 types of security - TVSS and Double Locking ( apologise if I am wrong..)

However I dont want to get into complicacies. For me, unlock in the remote shoudl open all doors - including the back door. However it does not open in mine's. I have to use the key manually to open the door. So friends - the real question - is there any security system which is preventing me to open the back door with wireless remote ? If so, how can I de-activate it ?

many thanks !

Have you tried hitting the unlock button twice? I think there is a function whereby 1 tap on the unlock button only unlocks the drivers door, 2 taps for all doors, stops baddies jumping in yer car when you unlock the doors! You can switch between this and 1 tap unlocks all doors, should be in the manual.

Hi Thanks for the information. I did not know that. However I had read the manual, and found out that if you lock the trunk door manually(by master key), then to unlock it, you HAVE to use the master key (and not by remote). So I have unlocked the trunk door (by master key) and used only the remote to lock/unlock all doors - and with that I can open the trunk door as well.

thanks a lot
