One thing, possibly my only resolution this year, is to go to the 'ring.

Something i've fancied doing for a while, so new year, why the hell not?!

Just wondered are there any othe like minded peeps that fancy coming together and having a TOC trip over to it?

No date in mind yet, just after interest/opinions/tips etc etc

:D

I was going to go anyway so I'd be up for it!

Definately want to do this at some point, I'd love to go back to Nuremberg almost as much as I'd love to have a go of the ring. Whether finances, dates & being able to get time off work will allow me to do it this year is another issue but I'll keep an eye on developments, stranger things have happened than me coming along though

Sounds like a nice idea B)

Oh, most important. Make sure you take at least one spare set of brake pads with you as they will not last long ;)

I would very much like to go back again this year but there is the issue of insurance.

Whether or not your insurer will pay out is not really the most pressing thing for me, rather it is the fact that you will be nicked by the German police if you have an accident and are blatantly uninsured.

Quite a lot of companies now specifically exclude the Ring from their policies, so you need to check carefully. If it's possible to find some genuine insurance for the track then I'm definitely up for it.

Yep totally. Insurance is the killer.

I've made it round three years on the trott without any accidents and i dont want to tempt fate

I think me and Ed are going to sneek off to Nur sometime soon for a weekender...

yeah - you need to bear in mind Germany requires 'liability' insurance - and this includes the ring - so if your insurer excludes the ring or 'destricted toll roads' from your policy, and a biker throws himself onto your car you have a world of trouble...

(I only found about this AFTER going round a few times ;) )

I understand Armco is very expensive to replace as well if you wipe out a panel or two :shutit:

oh yes...

plus you get charged for the recovery vehicles if you need towing off the course.

Have a look on the ringers forums - you'll hear stories of people being landed with 3000 Euro bills for running wide and stuffing their car into a section of armco..
