Hi, I have a 1990 ST185, having a few probs with it so, please, would anybody know why my engine management light comes on and i lose power when i accelerate hard(ish)?

possibly hitting boost cut, do you have an aftermarket boost gague???

check your engine codes using the information on GTFours.co.uk and see what it says

As above sounds like you're hitting boost cut. Get yourself an aftermarket boost gauge if you don't have one already, and see when the light comes on. Standard fuel cut is 12psi iirc, some are 17psi tho (jdm?) Car will be very sluggish after this, just pull out the main engine fuse to reset the ecu and it should be fine. Just remember where your boost cut is in the rev range and change gear before it occurs in future!!!
