Brake Pad Question?

Hi all, does anyone know if the rear brake pads on the new model(2003- now) are the same as the front pads?

I ask because i got the telltale grinding noise that means "new pads required" when braking the other day, so off i went and bought new pads. Proceeded to remove the pads from the front and found that they were fine, plenty of life left in them. I changed them anyway since i had the new ones there, then realised that its discs all round on this car, so i'm wondering if the rears are the same, then can i just fit the ones i removed from the front?

Hi,

Not sure if they are the same, though i doubt they are.

I wouldnt recommend it anyway, as the pads you removed would be worn to the shape of the front discs. your better off fitting new ones.
