I am thinking of buying a Toyata Avensis 2004 which has done 56,000 miles. Can anybody tell me what work should be done

on the 60K service?

I bought mine when it had 60k on the clock. The sevrice had been done but they had not changed the cam belt, whence £ 147. I changed the oil with fully synthetic one and had to buy a key (another £ 165). I have not checked what exactly the 60k service is as I did not get the invoice.

The cam belt is a must. I guess someone will jump in and will let you know .

Welcome to the forum, btw!

Cheers.

If its petrol it should have a chain instead of a cambelt. I understand the chain replacement is at 100,000miles.

Mine's on a 54 plate and has done 75,000 miles with regular Toyota servicing every three months due to its high mileage.

I'm sure if you call Lindops - www.lindoptoyota.co.uk who are based in Wrexham, they'll tell you what you need to know.

petrol or diesel I believe the engine is chain driven.

the 60K service should cost somewhere in region of £240-270 depending on dealership.

did not think the chain needed changing but I may be wrong.

Toyota Bradford wanted £470 for the 60k service.

The diesels definitely have a belt, despite what most toyota dealers will tell you. they forgot mine too, and i had to argue that it actually had one!

Petrol is a chain which does not need to be changed, according to the manual, unless you have a camry V6.

Mine is diesel (03) T3-X and I definitely had my cambelt changed. I did not have to pay the full 60k servicing, but ended up paying around £ 200. So I guess given the rest of the things that have to be checked/replaced it seems to be around £ 300.

Thank you for all your replies. Cost doesn't seem to bad for 60K service. It is a lot better than what I have been receiving from my local ford dealership for my current car.

I note that you say all D4D`s are belt driven - does that include the DCAT in the T180 ?
