How To Fool Ecu After Cat Removal?

Greetings from Iceland, I´m new here and would like start by saying hi to all the T-SPORT nutters that seem to hang around this forum. I (My wife) have a red 5-door 2002 Yaris T-Sport, which we like alot, but now it has a problem (first time), The cat is gone and I constanly have the check engine light in the dash, and I´m getting tired of unplugging the Battery to make the light dissapear.

Now there are three ways to fix the problem

1. Buy a new cat from the dealer for about a thousand quid, (yep 1000 pounds)

2. Buy an aftermarket cat for about 100 quid

3. Throw cat away and fool the sensor (thinking the emission is ok and therefore no light in dash)

Now a friend of mine has a Pontiac trans am WS6 which he recently updated with a borla exhaust (no cats) and he got some clip with it to snap to the after cat sensors, so the ecu thinks all is ok.

Because I like option 3 the most can anyone here tell me if he or she knows how to fool the sensor after the cat?

There are little metal rings you can buy (don't know what they are called), these pull the sensors out of the direct flow of air and fool the ecu.

Or theres electronic ones where a signal is sent to the ecu saying everything is fine.

The electronic one's seem better, but will probably cost a lot more.

The metal rings work for most people but you still get the odd few whose EML light still comes on.

Has anyone here on this forum used an PPE engineering O2 conditioner to fool the ecu after cat removal on a Yaris T-Sport?
