Ecu Not Responding?

Hi ppl,

im new to this forum n i dont have a great knowledge about cars... but i recently had my mechanic try attempt to calibrate the timing on my GT4 (after changing the distributer), but when shorting the circuit for the computer to work (E1 and TE1) there was no response from the engine; apparently the ecu is meant to rev the engine n stuff in order to do the calibration.

My question is: Is this a major problem? do i need to replace the ecu? atm it seems to be driving fine...

Thanks

no it doesn't rev up or any thing, all bridging the diag pins does is hold the timing at 10deg for checking.

don't worry it sounds ok
