hi

I recentky bought toyota avensis 2001. prevoiusly i used a cassette adaptor to connect my mp3 player to car tape. unfortunetely i only have a cd player now hich only plays cd-r ( does not play cd rw, wma, mp3 formats). what is the best way forward. I want to spend upto £ 30 only. II s there a way to connect any AUX input for the mp3 player in existing cd player. I donot mind changing track from mp3 player directly.

Please help.

PS; I have tried FM transmitter but there is a buzzing noise which goes up and down with car speed.

The buzzing noise normally indicates you need a noise suppressor on the - line,

or you have an earth problem. So changing your equipment is not going to fix any thing.

I think on pbay, rca noise suppressors are avaliable.

If your happy with the 'cassette on a wire' (I still use one) you will be able to buy a toyota unit off eBay for that sort of price. This will avoid the extra expense of buying an ISO connector for the wiring.

CD units which have external CD changer sockets can be used. see:

The FM transmitters are rubbish - not worth considering at all.
