Try an uprated TRD version from Fensport.

TRD Low Temperature Sports Thermostat, opening temperature is reduced to 71 degrees C.

TRD 72 degree thermostat is not required for a stock or moderate powered 3sgte. a OEM stat can be purchased from your local motor factors or TCB performance for around a tenner.

will a faulty stat make your car run bad?

> if it doesn't open then it may over heat. worst case scenario perhaps leading to split rad, water hoses, warped head, head gasket failure etc.

> if it is jammed open it may not allow the car to reach optimum operating temps in the winter months. potentially meaning the ECU is running the cold start map for longer and overfuelling...

do you feel that the car is suffering a performance loss?

Only reason i said about a trd one was because i thought an oem one would be expensive. If its only a tenner then thats probably a better bet

it doesnt seem to boost all that great, on the stock boost gauge thats all and for what it does boost its quite slow. it gets about 3/4 the way round the gauge. but i ws thinking it might br brcause the ecu thinks the car is still running cold?

i will go to my local parts place and get one see what happens

thanxs for your help
