Hi looking for any help, advise and suggestions before i go back to toyota garage( Arnold Clark) who were suppose to have replaced Air flow Metre in our car (2004 corolla verso 2.0 diesel) which apparantly has been the cause of the car failing to start. Car starts first time with no problems at all, only failing to start after having been driven some distance and engine has not had time to cool down. Engine turns over but fails to start. If car is left for approx 2-3 hours it starts without a problem and doesn't sound like it has a problem. Picked car up from garage this afternoon having been assured replacing the Airflow metre at the cost of £200 had fixed the problem. Car did the exact same thing again and would not start. Garage are now saying it is the starter motor!!! have no confidence in their diagnostic testing or faith in them being able to sort the problem.

Would appreciate it if anyone who has experienced similiar problem or may have an idea of the cause could let us know.

Cheers. JT

Hello and welcome to the TOC

I cant see how it would be the starter motor as surely it would be more difficult to start when cold but to be honest my knowledge of mechanics is almost non existent.

Mart sometimes posts on this forum and if he spots your post I am sure he will have a good idea if this is likely.

Sorry I could not have been anymore help
