K&N id better because of the location for cold air, but it's a oiled filter and could mess with the MAF sensor over time

Apexi is one of the best for power gains and filtration, but it's downside is it sits towards the rear of the engine bay and sucks warm air, unless you relocate it to the front behind the headlight

i currently have a raidhp oiled foam filter connected on to the airbox. not the best. so i wanted a filter that would replace the airbox. i realise the negative of the apexi is the location, but i think this is also a negative for the k&n. although, yes, it is exposed to a lot of cold air, it is also exposed to a lot of muck/dust, and water from the road. and with so many people telling me of the horrors of oiled filters, and the fact its £80 cheaper, its going to have to be the apexi. if jdmperformance get back to me in the next few minutes i can complete my buy, if not it will be tomorrow night.

cheers ryan and cheers for the link armoredfist :D

I believe the K&N has like a bag over it to protect it from the water and dirt, but I don't own one so can't really tell you.

I'm glad I have an apexi and not a typhoon after driving through a lot of water yesterday.

yeah, for the k&n you can get a drycharger for it, just an expensive sock that goes over the filter. but i thought you had to buy this seperate as it is listed in the accesories on the website, seperate from the typhoon. either way, the apexi is winging its way to me as we speak! :D

K&N is far better place for relocation, had mine in for 20,000 miles now and not one problem, apexi is silly place and sucks in warm air, so whats the point?!?!

Typhoon should come as standard with the water proof bag, sounds the nuts aswell!

We just managed to get another couple of Apexi Power Intakes for the Yaris. They had to be specially made up at the Apexera factory as they no longer stock they took 2 months to get a hold of them!

Only got a few in so if anyone wants one I would suggest they get there orders placed quick sharp! ;)

Thanks

Kevin

.

DO IT, i got an A'pexi and fitted it where the box was it was quiet but more to the point seemed to slow the car down if anything :( so i decided to relocate it, a bit of work moving the Battery around and finding a new earthing point for one of the leads (might be different on a SR??) A short lenghth of 60mm silicone hose and it was sorted loads better a really nice purposefull induction note and very noticeable perfomance gains :D thumbs up well worth the money.

mines fairly loud and noise of it comes in at around 5k and it free`d up my reving a lot, gave a lot more throttle response. mines still in the original location.
