hi

have just purchased a 1997 rav4 5door for the purpose of towing a 1100 kg laden weight caravan.. on paper the rav4 should cope with this .. but on hitching up .. oh dear the rear suspension is sagging... do you think fitting new toyota springs or a after market kit as sold by MAD would be the way to go?????

The rear springs do tend to go a bit 'soft'.

The cheapest fix is to get spring assisters as produced to compensate for towing caravans. There are a number of companies producing these; and a number of types.

Don't bother trying to fit stiffer springs as its far more costly.
