I recently purchased D4D estate (July 07 version)

Can anyone help with with a few queries

1) I'd like to get a bumper protector for the loading area --- anyone know of any options other than the toyota one.

2) On the passenger side, last small rear window (in the loading bay) doesnt have the heater line on it but the drivers side does....(checked a few other avensises (avensi ???) and they are the same)

3) Its a t2 spec with in dash radio and cd, it there any easy way to upgrade to a new stereo (I want to fit a new sony bluetooth unit which I have in an older car)

thanks

(PPS: anyone want my 1996 Carina E - pmo, 180k miles, taxed and moted .... :D )

1/bumper protector, yes the 'clingfilm' that you get from Toyota is not exactly what I want, why they can not do something better beats me especially as you can get a proper one for the hatch back... . I bought E-tech Sill Guard (from for example 'GB Driver') I made a template and cut it to size and then applied, took time but works fine (sofar...) I have an advantage as the car is black.

3/ Changing stereo - not sure how you would do this as there is no DIN slot to take it. why not buy a sun-visor b/t unit (try www.mobilefun.co.uk, they tend to offer good items at OK prices).

you can get bumper protectors from Toyota. Either the crappy and very hard to fit without getting bubbles underneath clear 'film' or a much better quality thick rubber moulded pad that sticks to the top of the bumper. Would definately recommend the latter moulded rubber one. All depends how much you want to spend.

Not sure of any others available other than toyota sorry.

Wow some nice motors there cortinas!

A nice storage space too!. I did have a moonstone saph which looked really nice. I had it for 3 years and i decided to do all of the jobs it needed (trailing arm bushes, rear arches, oil leaks etc etc etc lol)

I started to strip it down and just kept going and going and going lol, i found alot of rust in the Shell so decided to get rid of it and get another Shell. I now have a bare crystal blue cosworth Shell that im currently stripping the underseal from underneath. Will then etch prime/reseal and paint, then have the body completely repainted and then start refitting the rest of the parts.

Everything will either be new or rebuilt - should be a nice car when finally finished but it will be a while yet.

Mart.
