Aircon And Lights On 53 Plate T3-x

hi folks,

first post. had my avensis for 3 months now, just getting used to all the querks.

one thing i did notice re the aircon. in any other car i've had, when the car is idling and you switch the aircon on, the idle speed goes up to ~1000 rpm (for arguments sake) and will stay at ~1000 rpm. but in the avensis, the idle speed will go up to ~1000 rpm but then immediately returns to ~750 rpm. does this mean i could use the aircon all the time without significantly affecting fuel consumption? has anyone else noticed this?

it also seems to happen with the lights. when i put on the side lights, the idle speed goes up and stays up. but when i put on the headlights, the idle speed drops again. surely it should be the other way around???

has anyone else noticed these things?
