Rattle From Centre Consol On 2004 Avensis T3x

Hi,

My Avensis (t3x tourer) has a very annoying rattle from the centre consol to the left of the dash board (specifically the area around the hazard warning light button). The noise occurs mainly when driving slowly.

I can stop the noise for a short while if I push the panel, but the noise always returns. A Toyota dealer told me it is a well know fault. They informed me they could dismantle and repack the console (for £75 per hour). Does anyone with a similar experience have any cheaper solutions? I am considering inserting some blu-tack or similar material where the sections of the consol join.
