Hi everyone,

Just bought a yaris 56 reg however had a few questions regarding little bits and bobs, hope someone can help me- please!

1. I dont know how to adjust the time - i have read through the manual and have even tried holding down the little button but nothing happens.

2. One of my wheel trims have came off, anywhere I can get a one for cheap? and what size is it, i looked on eBay and found different sizes.

3. One of my back tyres has a really low air pressure, well it goes down more so than the other three, does this mean i have a punctured tyre?

Sorry I am really panicky abotu things. Just have to get these issues sorted ASAP.

Thank You for your time people,

Nina.

Hi Nina,

dont panick. To adjust the time you got to hold the little buttons and as far as I remember you need to hold 2 buttons at the same time.I done mine in the same way.

About the wheel trims I think the best to get one from a car dealer because not only the size is different but also the shape so its best to see what shape you have.

About your tyre yes you defenitly have a slow puncture and therfore you need to take that for repair.

hope that I was of some help.(from the island of MALTA)

Hi, tyre may be punctured or may be dodgy valve. Put a little spit over the valve and see if it stays the same or blows a bubble. If steady, it is most likely a puncture but if bubbling, it is the valve. Either it needs tightening or replacing. Any tyre centre should be able to do either job but Kwik-Fit charge about £17 for the pleasure. It should cost no more than a tenner.

The clock (On older models) adjusts with the buttons on the dash, where it says navi.... you press one of the lower ones repeatedly, going through stereo functions, BASS, FAde, etc, until it says the time, then you use the upper ones to adjust it.

Pleas note, I am not sure if later ones operate in exactly the same way, though!

Wheel trims are a bit hit and miss. They need to match the wheel size nad hopefully the type on the other wheels.

Try a breaker with some Yaris' in or if Toyota are too expensive, (you may have to buy a set) get a set from a car parts shop/stall, making sure they are the right diamiter. On the tyres it will say the sizes, most likely the lastst number on the sizing fitment. It will be either:- 13, 14, or 15 inches on a Yaris. (Tyres will say something like 165/65/15.

Good luck.

Howaya,

Put some air in your tyre first and see if it goes down much or not, sounds like a slow puncture alright or a dodgy valve if it does go down.

To check your wheel size look on your tyre itll say something like "185/55R14" the number after the "R" is your wheel size in inches. Im pretty sure itll be 14 inch on your car.

You can buy a single wheel trim the same as the ones you have from the dealer, however they are like £18 and if you go to any motor factors you can buy a full set of four for less than that! The ones in the dealer are just really dear cos they say toyota on them. If it was me id buy a full set from a motor factor and have a wee change on the car.

I think the clock in the new yarises adjusts in the same way as gar said there.

The ones in the dealer are "really dear" cos they are genuine Toyota parts. Some people like to keep thier car standard cos it helps keep the cars re-sale value up. BUT yeah, if you don`t mind the car looking different, then go for the cheap set. And while you`re at the car spares, get some cable ties to hold them on with too - you might keep them a bit longer that way ;)
