Is it a Toyota Alarm, or an after market one e.g. a Toad perhaps?

Either way, could you not swap the working module from the knackered fob to the new one; I doubt there's much wrong with the electronics.

Have a look at this like to another thread - may asnwer all your questions, I've just had a similar problem and fixed it for around £15 rather than toyota's £150-£250 quote they gave me

Good Luck

Hi guys.. Many thanks for your help. Tried to change the fob over and leave the circuitry., but it s the circuitry thats faulty on the old fob. tried the advice of the forum as you advised but its for fobs that were originally programmed for the alarm your resetting. Just bought some advice off eBay about programming a new fob but it hasnt worked. seems silly to splash out on a new and expensive alarm when all i need is a fob programming. So frustrating!
