Servicing Costs

Sorry if this has been covered before but I just wanted to get some peoples opinion on servicing costs. I've just booked my Verso T3 (2.2 litre) in for it's 30k service. The lady on the phone told me that the 30k service is an interim service and so it only takes 1 hour. I asked how much it would cost and was told £140.

If it only takes 1 hour then I doubt they'll be doing much more than replacing the oil, doing the usual checks (and no doubt discovering that my brake discs need replacing judging by what I've read elsewhere). So how can the £140 bill be justified?

Does anyone else think this is expensive. Service was booked at Pentagon Toyota in Rotherham.

A colleague of mine has just booked his Corolla in for it's 2nd year service (again, at Pentagon in Rotherham). It's only done 10K. He's just been quoted £195, albeit for a 2 to 2-and-a-half-hour service. He questioned the cost and was told that labour charges alone are now £80 per hour !! :o
