£59 thousand! Sounds expensive!

Ha ha - only joking. This car does have the "vulnerable" flywheel. You have to remember that some never go, it is not inevitable. Did you read the DMF thread which tells you some more about the subject including the effected chassi no's?

As stated you can't really tell unless the failure is iminent but have a read through and we will try to answer your questions. You might tell from the service history if it has been done.

Some owners have reported that a loss of power can be caused by the high pressure fuel pump but you can fit the valves to cure it. We have a resident parts man who will supply any genuine parts at a discounted price anyway. Other than that the cars are pretty bomb proof so there is nothing to worry about.

Cheers

Hi there....Bought my 02 4D4 GX with 67000 on the clock in November. The only problem I've had was the starting one (see previous posts). I don't know if it is fitted with modified DMF but at the moment there is no problem.. use it daily, work is a 92 mile round trip including mtorways etc and it turns in 45-48 MPG...very pleased with it.....So go for it!!!!

Cheers :)
