Avensis 1.8 Vvti Gls X Reg

Hello Everybody,

I am thinking of buying a 1.8 VVTi avensis , fully loaded , for 2.8 k - it has done 58 k . It is a 2000 X Reg. I just have to pay 800 quid more than mu 1.6 T Reg avensis which is done 87 k. Any idea if I should stick with my T Reg or if the VVTi option is better in terms of maintanence , problems and stuff like that.

Any info will be appreciated.

I would stick with your T reg - mainly because of the problems that the 1.8 VVTi has with oil consumption (these problems are well documented on this web site - search for "oil consumption").

Keep the one you've got, even if the VVTi engines were as reliable as the old one's there still not as smooth as the pre-vvti engines.
