Im new to this forum while driving home my new corolla 1.4 diesel car i noticed the car was drawing back on me,after just 8 km of driving, the car cut out on me and would not start. I rang salesman and he told me he put petrol unleaded into the new car instead of diesel . He towed the car back and said he would sort out the problem. My question has 2 parts ,firstly will there be damage done to the engine and am i still covered with the warranty 3 years even though it was toyota's fault

Are they a common rail diesel? Try looking at this. If you can reject the car do cause you dont know what mite be damaged. If link doesn't work just go on to the AA website and look for it there. Could be big money to fix

Hey man, I work at a Toyota dealer and the dude admitted putting petrol in and still gave you the car????

If the car runs ok after the tank and lines have bben cleared I can't see there being a problem, use a diesel injection cleaner for acouple of tanks and keep a ear out for a tapping under load!

The D4D is quite a strong engine and as long as it hasn't being run too long and too hot you should be ok!

All the best

Chris
