Confused On The Warranty Side

Hi all,

As in a previous post, I'm weighing up my options in either keeping my 05 XTR or trading up to the new one.One of the questions I've been researching on the forum this morning is the warranty life. I've seen one post that mentions 5 years/100,000 miles (available from 2002 onwards). I thought the "normal" warranty was 3 years and then take the option (or not) of an extended one, either from Toyota or a 3rd party?

Could someone clear up for me the postion on what is what?

Also, at what miles would you expect the brake pads need to be changed (under average driving)?-thought I would throw this one in as a freebie! :D

Cheers

Whilst you are weighing your options, I would like to reply to your question about brake pads.

I believe you should change your brake pads when they have less than 1.5mm of friction material left on them. I do not know about Miles, but I do know that it is an easy job that my odd-job man can do in 20 minutes.

I suggest you read the forum topic on the Duall Mass Fly Wheel (DMF) HERE as this is the part Toyota upped the warranty on, but only on certain model chassis numbers, and these are listed in the topic.

You can buy a extended Toyota warranty which would be better than a third party one....
