I have heard lots of stories about people putting veg oil or chip fat in their diesel cars or what ever, but never spoke to anybody who has actually done it them self. Has anybody here done it, and if so, what happened?

I have a 1997 3rd Generation 3.0 Surf and have been using a mixture 50/50 of supermarket veg oil and diesel in mine for over 3 years with no problems. The first thing you need to do is change to fule filter before you start as the veg oil tends to clean out the muck. I drop to about a third veg oil in the winter to avoid waxing. Hope that helps.

Just to confirm, at current temperatures, a 3rd gen runs fine on 2/3 Veg oil (2x 20l drums in an empty tank, the rest topped up with diesel)

I love the smell!!!
