Mr2 Suspension

When i was cleaning the wheels on my car i noticed at the front that the top of the spring stay on the front suspension strut was REALLY close to the top inside of my tyre..... is that normal?

dosnt seem to be rubbing but its not much space and was just concerned as my wheels are 17", not the original pennies that were on it.

Sounds normal to me, some sit closer than others (from car to car not just MR2's) If its not causing you problems with rubbing it never willo, that part of the suspension doesn't move.. unless of course there is a fault.
