Hello, RAV-ers!

Here I am, writing to you my first words after months of reading such interesting posts. Thank you for being here.

I own a '07 beige RAV4, here it's called VIP, and I guess it's something like the X-TR in UK, but with leather seats and without privacy rear glass. Anyway, a great car.

Hoping that my posts will be readable (excuse my english... :blush: ), let's rock and roll!!!!! :D

Thanks.

Welcome!= Bine ai venit!

I spent a number of visits to the Abruzzo region of Italy in the past 3 years....where nobody speaks English...apart from 1 Roumanian girl I met serving in a restaurant in a tiny village...who spoke perfect English!!

Just out of interest, do you see many RAV's on the road in Romania?

Welcome Nest

My experience of Romanian 4X4s was a friend who worked for Dacia and they imported Dacia Denims. I think some of the cars were built under license to Renault.

Anyway, your English is excellent and once again welcome.

Thanks for your warm and kind words. :thumbsup:

And to respond to your questions:

@ bothwell buyer

Many romanians (I may say too many romanians) went to Italy to find a better life; some compare it to the exodus of the italians to the United States...English is learned in school from the fifth grade, or even earlier now i think. So, it really doesn't matter how stupid you are, at the end of the school you must know something (anything!) in English!... ^_^

@Big Baz

To tell you the truth, I've chosen the "Desert Dune" colour for two reasons:

1. I like brown a lot and all it's shades (including beige)

2. It doesn't matter how muddy my car is, nobody notice that! :P :D :D :D

And finally 3. The only good thing in russians being close neighbours: VODKA! :D

@Fujisan

To be honest, RAV4 have pretty good sales here. The first positions in the top sales are Santa Fe and Tucson, Touareg, then the RAV.

@anchorman

In the "good old days", Romania produced three cars: Dacia - with Dacia 1300 (with the design of Renault 12, first build under license to Renault, after a wile, getting worst and worst ,being build under license of "give it a rest, it will work anyway") being the best seller, Oltcit (copy of an Citroen), and ARO - a genuine (finally!) car. This ARO was a fourrunner with a lot of ups in off road, but a lot of downs in terms of reliability. It was kind of a Lada Niva. You could put a stereo in it and say that you pimped your ride!...:)
