Hi all and thanks for the help so far.

As you might know I am looking at a short wheel base, possibly a 1.8. Anyway, have seen advertised a 2.0 automatic and wondered what these gearboxes are like. Also it has leather seats - good bad?

Once again any info appreciated.

Modern auto gearboxes are generally very reliable and I am not aware of any specific issues on RAVs. The only snag I have come accross in over a year of looking in on the forum was a chap who was fitting a replacement but his problems came from the fact he was not fitting like for like and had problems with connectors etc.

Now having said that don't forget that you are talking about a heavy 4X4 with a petrol engine so expect it to be thirsty. If you can put up with that they are delight to drive.

Keep us informed.

Is it not that the reason its "a heavy 4x4" is that it has 5 doors????
