When your car is in normal 4 wheel drive mode, and you decide to turn sharp left, then the wheels rotate at different speeds. try walking in small circles....1 foot stays on the spot while the other travels a longer distance.

Well the RAV is just the same.

Now operate the diff lock, and the transmission locks to ensure that all wheels turn at the same speed, regardless of grip or cornering. For this reason, you only use diff lock if conditions on the road are very slippy/muddy etc. On a dry road, the car will seem more sluggish and difficult on corners. the manual I think says a max of 50mph in this state.

If you switch it on, do it when stationary and the front wheels straight ahead. When you switch off, again do it when stationary and wheels straight. Sometimes, I have found that only by reversing will the diff lock release quickly.

I've had the RAV 14 years and have rarely had to use the diff lock - only on icy roads; and on muddy fields.

Bothy

My feet do that when I walk in a straight line - please advise.

Is it the red wine?

Not being a red wine drinker; and being off drink for Lent (it takes a while to dry out afore it) then I'd say its heehaw to do with the red wine...have you been eating beef from USA or Chicken from the Far East??

having had MRI scans some years ago following my spinal injury, twas found that my left leg is shorter than my right leg now. Which explains why the security guards in M&S keep following me as I circle the racks of clothes (mens). Its not that I want to circle them - its just that I can't get out....! How did I get in? In a series of sideways movements......
