Optitron Lights

Yello!

Call me maniac, (my wife does, hi hi hi), but when something bothers me it really bothers me. I'm not sure, but I think that my optitron light don't have the same illumination on all zones. I mean, on the top of the speedometer, the "0" from 120 (km/h) and the "4" from 140 looks like they have a shadow over. It's more evident in the daylight. I understand that there are LED lights, so I wonder: are there some LED burned or am I too over the edge?...:)

Does anyone else observe this thing, or am I "seeing shadows"? :)

Hi Maniac,

Heres the best possible advice I could offer you about your question. START DRINKING DE-CAFF just like I did.

Everything goes back to normal again after a couple of weeks, though the headaches are bad at first. ;)

Lighty up things on the dashboard do seem to fail at some point. if you continue to pour cheap Romanian wine onto the speedometer, it won't improve it, but you'll know why the rest of the lights don't work either!!

Try turning up the brightness of the dials. Then you'll be able to tell whether you've got LED's out or not. ;)

I  quit smoking, maybe there is the reason. De-caff? I'm afraid I will be a walking zombie if I don't drink normal coffy!...

   The thing is, you would be amezed how good is the wine here! I'm not talking about big vintners, I'm talking about the wine I made myself. Yummmyy!...

I did it, but when I'm turning up the brightness, it's less evident. I mean, if one or two LED's are bad, I shouldn't have any light on a number or a zone. I'm gone ask the dealer when I'll go pick up my wife's Yaris. If there is a problem, I'll make them cut off a half on my wife's car price!

I've been and had a look at mine and although it is calibrated in MPH if I look at the top where the 120/140km/h position is, it is very evenly lit so maybe there is a problem. Call at the dealer and check another one.

Cheers

OK, that's official. I'm a maniac! ^_^

I went to the service and they told me that all was OK. What I see is a shadow made by the fact that the LEDs aren't just under the speedometer, and the light comes from the sides, that's why in some places there is some kind of "shadow"...

What can I say?... Untill I see another RAV4 optitron lights to comapre, I'm still a maniac...:)
