Wednesday Can't Come Soon Enough

I pick up my brand new Yaris SR 1.4 D-4D on Wednesday. My first Toyota, and my first brand new car. My Ford Focus (51 plate 1.4 Zetec) has provided sterling service for the last six years, but it's time to get something cheaper to run - things started going wrong all at the same time on the Focus!

I was converted after taking a day long test drive in a Yaris diesel down to Bluewater and back home to Cambridge. What a fantastic drive! Hills were easy going, plenty power to spare.

Must write a note to myself - don't fill up with petrol!

Welcome, enjoy the new car.

If you're worried about getting the wrong fuel, there are plenty of devices on the market to help you remember. They're not guaranteed to work and cost a few pounds but if you think you might make that mistake they may be worth considering.

I know I would get it wrong sooner or later if I were to change to a diesel car.

I think I'll just have to stick a big label on the filler cap!

There is one already there! Well on the inside of the fuel flap anyhow. Good choice of car...I dont think you`l regret it. And oh so cheap £35 A YEAR tax woooooaahhh!!

Oh and on the wrong fuel...I run a Diesel Yaris and a Kawasaki ZX900R motorbike. I put diesel in the bike :o ....but only 20p worth before I realised. Just filled the rest of the tank with petrol. It smoked a bit but it was ok :yahoo:

Well that's no good. I don't look at the filler flap! I printed out a label on the work's label printer ready to stick on the cap. At least it'll catch my eye and remind me!

Hmmm.... can you get diesel motorbikes? :-)

Yes you can get diesel motorbikes:

You should look at the inner side of the fuel filler flap as it is right in front of you as you refuel................Hopefully with the correct fuel ;)

ive often thought an easily commercially accessibly motorcycle should be made, i really am surprised some of the big manufacturers dont do it. obviously not for sports bikes, but a lot of people buy smaller bikes to go to work on cos theyre cheap to run, and if they were diesel it would hugely increase their economy.

i know there are diesel bikes in existence but none are really cheap or accessible enough. if someone brought a goodun out theyd make a mint
