Towing Hook Bent

A most dangerous thing happend last week to my trailer towing hook.

Was moving from one house to another when i used my Avensis with a detachable towing hook to tow a trailer.

Loaded the trailer and parked the car outside for the night.

Where going to move my stuff over the next day.

To my disbelife the next morning the towing hook was bent backwards and had a big crack in the steel.

Trailer still attached but could have been dangerous if i had`nt noticed the fault.

Turned out to be a weak spot in hook and it had cracked just where the hook lock attaches.

No heavy load on the hook or in the trailer. Only a couch and some book shelves.

Talked to my local Toyota dealer. They never seen anything like it.

They immidatly arranged for it to be fixed free of charge.
