Loss Of Engine Throttle Control - Yaris Diesel

Driving along this morning on the motorway, lost power and engine management light came on and ended up on hard shoulder. Engine was still running at idle with light still on but would not respond to throttle. Switched off, left it for 30 secs, looked under bonnet expecting to see snapped throttle cable, couldn't see anything amiss, restarted OK, light went out and from then on running fine. Anyone any ideas?

thanks, Dave

Does the Yaris have electronic throttle control, and therefore, no throttle cable?

Im pretty sure Yaris D4D are electronic throttle. Best to get it to a dealer for a code check etc etc.

Took it into dealer on Saturday. Conformed from ECU download that the accelerator transmitter had open circuit (intermittent) so new pedal assembly to be fitted (£300)
