Front End Rattle

Recommended Posts

My Avensis D4D T3 reg 04 has developed a hollow rattle somewhere at the front of the car. It is getting worse and so far I have been unable to trace it. Does not seem to be the suspension. Everything feels normal, the car tracks normally does not pull on the steering. Has this happened to other members can anyone help me with this. I would like an idea before I take it to the dealer many miles away.

Thanks in anticipation of your help.

hi

as i understood yours was made in 2004 and 3 full years are gone.

check with all tightness of all bolts/nuts especially that fix the engine on the bed frame.

it is understood the vibration of diesel is more than petrol engine resulting releasing of bolts tighteness.

one'd check each item. it is normal -- do not be in shock -- but check your car very careful.

i wonna believe that the another reason connected with the engine injection timing is actual.

there are many others but firstly check with parts tighteness.

cheers/igor

Thanks Igor for your reply, everything has been checked and is ok. The rattle appears to be from the steering. I am told this is a known fault and is not dangerous. Try telling that to my passengers, it is also driving me mad, is there a cure.
