Gen 6 General Advice Needed

HI All,

Will be posting some pics of the Gen 6 GT 1999 tomorrow after a clean up.

OK, just had the first major service (plugs, oil etc) done and decided to place a K&N drop in filter, not much difference to be honest

Question: Is it advisable to drill holes in the lower part of the filter box?

Question: Do other owners have an issue with the Gen 6 at lower speeds (under 3K more so under 2K) feeling slightly hesitant (instead of rolling forwards it slightly jerks back as if there is pressure build up in exhaust wich it cant release in time), timing belt was changed last year, car was parked up for some considerable time. Could it be brakes binding

Question: how do you reset ECU (Battery disconnection or is it a case of removing a fuse)

Questiion : Brakes vibrate sometimes when breaking (time to replace discs?) Apparantly pads were recently replaced!

Genuine milage 44K 1 owner and full toyota history?

All advice appreciated.

TIA

Hi - In my Gen 6 I get a similar phenomena in 5th gear at lower revs (not labouring), but almost a slight jerking back engine braking sensation, but genrally the car runs very well for a car of this age - generally very pleased with it.

We replaced our pads recently, but the brakes are still not ideal - I think the original disks or certainly old disks are still on it - our disks need changing aswell.
