Got My Car 2 Weeks Ago...

Hi all,

New to the site and to Toyota, used to have a 1.5LSi Honda Civic which after 96k I decided was time to move up to something newer. Little did I know that buying one of these lovely T Sport's would turn into such a nightmare. Maybe I didn't check the car enough when I bought it so maybe it's my fault but here we go on the repair list:

Car judders and sounds like it is struggling when I first set off in it, when it has been left for a while stationary. Think it may be handbrake or front brakes or even the clutch.

Car makes an awful tick tick tick tick when travelling around 3000rpm.

Had a swimming pool in the spare wheel compartment, removed plugs and drained approx 3 inches of water.

Passenger side headlight has lost it's seal and consequently has gained alot of condensation which has led to meltdown of the headlamp connector plug - and popped lamps.

Drivers side door seal in corner nearest mirror is not seated correctly and is bulging outwards.

Various rattles inside the cabin, more than likely the parcel shelf.

So, after selling my lovely reliable Honda Civic and buying a Toyota, which I thought was meant to be mental for reliabilty, I find myself shafted and having to travel back to the dealer to get the work done on warranty. To me it sounds like a lot of work. I paid £6k for the car which, to me, should be in perfect condition. The dealer holds its reputation on it's excellent warranty so hopefully everything will get put right and put right properly.

Gah, Rant over,

...knew I should of puty more towards a CTR...

Dan

car judering and strugling when cold, maybe spark plugs need cleaning or renewing ? what petrol you using ? how many miles you done ?

the tick tick tick dont sound too healthy, surely you would have noticed this on test drive ?

the seal in corner of my drivers side window is overlaped a littlle and bulges out a bit , tbh i assumed it was supposed to be like that, aint anything major.

maybe your parcel shelf , one person off here found his spoiler had came loose, also my parcel shelf has a clip missing off it (the clip where it sits into the back of the seats) and mine still doesnt rattle. dont think i have any rattles in my car and hopefully i wont :)

tbh if you still have warrenty, the car is being good to you lol what happened if it gave you these faults after warrenty ?

I get what you're saying, better it to all crop up now then 3 months later with no warranty. They say their warranty covers everthing, no maximum claim and covers all consumables aswell. It's just the hassle of having to drive back there.

dan,

dont be put off, im sure most others CTS owners will agree that the CTS is 99 times out of a 100 solid car. had mine 2 yrs now and done 25k miles in it and had 0 problems, stick with it mate and when the dealer sorts it out for you im sure you will start enjoying the CTS problem free in the future!
