I am about to start a project that involves taking the running gear and engine from a ST165 Celica GT4 and putting it onto my ST162 Celica GT-S Coupe, thereby taking my car from a non-turbo fwd to a turbo 4wd. Although i could just buy a GT4 and be done with it, from what iv heard there are only around 3 ST162 Celica coupes 1986-89 currently registered in New Zealand so i want to hang onto it. Did Toyota ever produce a generation 4 GT4 coupe or were they all just liftbacks?

If anyone has any thoughts on the issues that could arise during this project like fuel tank relocation, cutting of firewall, wheelbase lenghts etc id be grateful to hear them. Also has anyone heard of something like this being done before?
