Yaris Sr Rear Suspension

Hi all i'm new here.got a yaris 1.3sr in silver, lovely car, bought it for the wife for xmas.

Was wondering however...I took off the rear wheels at the weekend to clean and paint the drums and clean under the arch, when i noticed that the rubber spring seat was looking a bit worn and tired.will this be why the car seems to clunk and bang hard on the rear when going over potholes or general road imperfections? The top and bottom spring seats look a bit worn on both sides. Is it a big job to change them? Also,is it a common fault? The car is a Wreg, one owner, ftsh and generally in mint cond. The rear does look slightly higher than the front and again,is this normal? The car drives spot on with excellent handling.

Sorry for all the questions, but being new here,i just want to make sure

Cheers

Rear is higher as standard than the front!

Mine bangs quite alot aswell, but if rubber looks worn its probably time to replace!

Easy fix,got the parts from toyota dealers-they are called `coil insulators` £4.57 each for the uppers and £3.07 for the lowers. :D

Took the tein springs off and fitted the new rubbers, took just over an hour to do. ;)

Result,as it's really good now, much less banging over bumps and a smoother ride.well worth doing for what it costs. :yahoo:

oh yes...the old parts-totally shot to pieces, esp the lowers!! no wonder it was banging
