2001 Gts Acceleration

i've started to notice that when i start my car there's a really high pitch noise in the engine

until it heats up then its finne

another thing is that when i press the gas going 40

the gears drop down to second gear and the car gives a kick to it as it accelerates

another thing is when im stationary and then i accelerate,

first gear only lasts till i go to 20 mph or 4x rpm

any thoughts on what is wrong

and what i can do to fix it

The high pitched noise is likely to be the Auxillary Belt, it's a VERY common problem with the Gen 7.

Your other problem sounds like you have a Tiptronic, these were never available in the UK so you may wish to ask on newcelica.org
