Avensis Hatchback (06) Boot Spoiler

Hi All,

I am looking to buy a 06 Hatchback to replace my aging (read: impractical with kids) Celica 94. (anyone want to buy? )

My only concern is the back end of the Hatch. Sometimes it looks a little "stumpy". I did an experiment and removed the spoiler from the likes of a Mazda 6 picture and the old style Laguna (1999) and they too have stumpy bums (erm. "unfinished" if you prefer). Both cars look much better with their spoilers attached.

Has anyone tried to attach a spoiler (not a boot lip) to improve this angle on their 03+ Hatch? Do you have any pics and does it improve it or make it a lemon? (if you could admit to that!). I am thinking a discrete/normal one rather than "boy-racer-cant-see-out-the-back-window-anymore" type wing...

Some cars suit mods like that, others do not and the Avensis is in the latter category, u take the tourer and let your partner drive the hatch :D

Also think of the colours, I saw a bright silver hatch tonight and it looked OK from the back.

I think you are right. I have a reluctance to mod. And as you say... The tourer is mine and she likes the hatch in Silver Steel, so what's the point in spending more dosh and possibly making a pigs ear...

I have a lip spoiler on mine and I think it changes the appearence just enough to make it look interesting, maybe thats just me though!

Not a boot spoiler - there's too much of the rear light, and so it looks odd (ie aftermarket).

Dunno what something would look like attached to the rear of the roof, like on Focuses (Foci!).

IMO, most cars are just spoiled with spoilers.

the small lip spoiler is not too bad, its quite small.
