i think he said it was a 96,all i know is there are only three of them in ireland so it would be sweet to have a rare car.one of them is a 1.6 with 160bhp rwd that would do me nicely

Did he tell you what model it was??? like BZ-r

The levins come in loads of diffrent forms I think not sure of model numbers but the engines are:

4age 20v 5 speed 160

4age 20v 6 speed 165

4agze 5 speed 165

4agze 6 speed 170

There all front wheel drive I think but there could be a rwd one  , thats all the info I know about them I could be wrong on the 4agze 6 speed but I have seen one on a website somewhere I will see what I can get for you mate!

They are based on the same floor pan as the Corolla. Knowlson swapped the entire front suspension and brakes from an earlier one onto a 98 Corolla so they must be pretty much interchangable. I believe that 95 was the last year that they put the supercharged 4A-GZE in the GT-Z model - not sure what went into the other models in the range. After 96 the GT-Z had the 1.6 20v VVT.

Hi,

i have a 1992 (j) Levin GT Apex Super Strut with a 4AGE 20 Valve engine (fwd) 160bhp standard, although i have done a few mods (180bhp)

I absolutley love this car, its great fun to drive, revs to 8,000 no problem. It looks fantastic, and you will probably not see another on the road.

Definately buy it.

I have found that alot of basic component parts

can be the same as a celica gt, so no problem getting them.

the car handles fantastic in the dry, and very twitchy in the wet, which you would expect from a fwd car.

Hi

I have a 92 gtz supercharged one,Fanastic car with excellent handling i 've just started to modify it,getting a custom hayward&scott manifold and exhaust made soon, port and polish, mines ecu,175mm crank pulley, front mount intercooler, that should take power to 200+ bhp.

I,ve also got a 93 20v arriving from japan soon. Both the gtz and 20v are excelent cars.

i'll just have to wait and see.........

  • 4 weeks later...

Just out of interest, how much is the importer looking to charge for the Levin?

Don't worry, I'm not going to pinch it from under you, it's just that I'm going to sell my 1992 Levin GTZ (170bhp 1.6 supercharged) in a couple of weeks and was just wondering what they fetch at the moment.

Hey Glanza

A 92 gtz levin in good condition is going to be worth 3500 for a standard example and 4000 to4500 half for a modified one.

I have spent 3000 just on mods on my 92 gtz so would expect at least 4000 when i come to sell it.

SRD - I owned this car prior to selling Glanza's, and it makes more sense for me to have a Glanza than a Levin. I know the Glanza market well enough not to have a 'little black book', but needed an opinion on the Levin. Nippex's thoughts (thanks for the reply mate!) are in line with mine so job accomplished!

By the way, if you're interested in a p/x for your Glanza, give me a mail!

there's three BZ-G's and one BZ-R in ireland at the moment, with another BZ-G on it's way (plus the one you are inquiring about). Two of the BZ-G's and the BZ-R were owned by a mate of mine who is now bringing in the other one. they are very quick and comfortable motors. many kits available and alot of tuning capabilities. the one in my avatar was tuned to bout 205BHP (guy in limerick owns it now i think) and handled like a dream. any more q's e-mail me at davidbread@oceanfree.net
