Corolla Alarm Function.

Corolla In France

I have a left hand drive French bought toyota coralla 1.4 D4D. It is a late December 2006 or early 2007. First registered to us on the 02 02 2007. It seems to be one of the last made.

I have never heard the car alarm go off even after trying to set it off. I opened the drivers window, locked the car with the remote fob and then stuck my head through the open window and it did not go off. I even tried yanking on the door handles outside to no avail. There is a red light that flashes next to the steering wheel all the time.

Does my car actually have an alarm? does it have an engine immobiliser? The actual French name for my particular specification for my car is called the linea techno. With ECC etc.

I would like to get the alarm working, if not working for our visit to the UK.

Many thanks James.

Lock yourself in the car and then move about. If that fails then open the door from the inside with it still set. Normally works that way i think.

Thanks for your reply. Tried what you sugested but it did not set the alarm off. I think it is the case of taking it to the dealer for them to check if it is working or not. Maybee the French model corolla over here does not have an alarm, I would of thought it would though on a car that costs 21,000 euros!!

Many thanks James.
