You may as well change the cambelt at the same time.

any info on changing water pump on Surf 1993 2.4 td please

radiator out , belts off bottom pulley off the hardest job,the water pump pulley off, timing cover off the water just sits in the middle off the engine with the timing belt around it you dont have to touch the timing belt just undo the bolts on the water pump and it comes off in one from the middle off the engine i thought it a lot easyer job than you may think replace gasket and bolt new one in and build back up if automatic rember the bottom off rad holds auto transmision fluid so re top up did mine outside in december took me a day but i gave up on undoing bottom pulley n had to slightly damage the bottom off the timing belt cover to get it off as i couldnt undo the bottom pulley it with the tackle i had outside hope that may help you
