Compressor Vs. Dc5

hi guys,

the other day i was driving along "my private road" just minding my own business.. and all of sudden i look in my rear view mirror and i see a white shimmering car shadowing me. at this point it was getting very impatient and startied flashing obviously wanting me to me to move over.

i thought to myself ok fair enough so i moved to the middle lane to catch a glimpse at this car.

side my side now and both of us are looking over at each other susing out each others car. this guy was driving a modified dc5 with carbon fibre bonnet.. beautifil car!!! i must admit!!

Now this guy you could tell he was a bit of stuck young lad with "my car is better and faster than yours" attitude to him. and decided to rev off leaving me behind.

I thought to myself... this would be the a great opportunity to represent all toyotas corolla out there.. so i briskly gave chase.

pulling up beside him once again i looked over and he looked quite amazed that i was next to him as he glanced over the best part of 3 times. after a couple of seconds we both knew wat was coming next. so it was both feet to the floor.

the sound was awesome you could her his vtec engine screaming away and my supercharger wining as we hit high revs.. of course down "my private road".. i did not once looking at my speedometer.. as i was more concerned about the road ahead.. was something out of the fast and furious.

it was neck and neck up to forth and i was frankly suprised i was keeping up.. and i am sure he was to.. neck and neck for at least another mile till we came to a traffic light.

at the lights now and he wound down his window and said.. wat car u got there?? at which point i replyed proudly "a toyota corrolla compressor"* with massive smile on my face* he said and i qoute "your car is ridcululously quick.. considering the modification that iv done.. nice car" and i obliged and said thanks.. "your car sound awesome.. and looks the business"

didnt get to talk to him much after that as the light changed and he turned off... as i drove off, heart still pumping, i thought to myself im so proud to be driving a toyota. what a car!

i would of hate to think if it was a bendy road.. dont think ill be telling the same story!

shaun

compressor got the same bhp then aint it ? i so wish i had saved more and got the compressor , didnt think i could get insurence on it so went for the t sport and realised it was peanuts on top of my old car. im going to keep a look out for when they clock some miles up and the price drops then do a swap plus a bit more cash :D i love the sound of high reving with my typhoon, is the sound of the supercharger whinning loud ? can it be easily heard inside the car ? does it sound nice ?

oh and nice story lol funny how he wanted to question your car

You guys just love playing 2F2F with Hondas on your private roads with roundabouts and traffic lights.

The CTR stories are quite amusing, but this Integra one is the best yet. Keep up the good work.

There is quite a lot of rubbish posted, but this seems pretty genuine.

The guys does have a Compressor remember.

And as for the CTS/CTR. CTRs are faster, but they're not exactly worlds apart.

Where are you getting your figures from; I thought CTS was a few Kg heavier than the DC5?

DC5 curb weight = 2744 lbs / 1244.67 kg

Compressor curb weight = 2976.21 / 1350 kg

So somthing dont sound right here...

The DC5 isn’t that much faster than a CTR. The power output is only around 16 17hp more and if Compressors are beating CTR’s I can see them being pretty close.

100kg is a lot of weight though, and he has mods too. I think he may have been playing the drums on the revs. Good on ya anyway.

  • 2 weeks later...

The DC5 is ballistic! Mate used to have one. Its a different engine to the CTR but the other main differences are Brembo brakes and a limited slip diff. My mates was totally standard and had no bother embarrasing the newer Imprezza WRXs, especially round those roundabouts you come across on private roads.

So you did well to keep with one in the Compressor!
