Cts Vs Fiesta St ,

m8 at work wiv fiesta reckons he has the quicker car cos we raced for bout 10 seconds wen i had a full car and couldnt poull away. reckons he could have took me! so just wonderin if any of u guys had any run ins wiv 1 cheers. both standard (apart from his go faster stripes lol)

im sure we wud beat the ST bcos its only got bout 140-150 i think, but we shud start getting worried wen the 185bhp ST comes out end of this month

certainly think i could leave a fiesta st especially when in lift, had car few months now and im just sussing how to change and stay in lift :)

The ST has a bigger engine and more torque so it probably look like it would initally sit with the CTS...but the CTS would start to pull away once it has been in lift for a gear or 2...

I'd be very confident you would pull away in a fair race...a golf gti 180 is a good bit quicker than these (go on youtube) The CTS would be similar to the 180 in performance.

Weight has a serious effect on performance...a full car load is going to seriously slow you down....my car dies when fully loaded...

Yeah gotta remember Fiest St bigger engine almost forgotten since is a small car,lol anyone know how the CTS compare to the old Focus St 170 ? my mate got one & think it can beat the current Golf GTi, the impreza WRX, CTR & outhandle a Evo7 round the bend & thats a standard ST170 hmmm..........

I read about the higher performance Fiest ST £18k !!! :o id rather spend my money on something else !

a friend of mine has an st 170 standard with cat back system only. another mate has a t sport yaris puttin out bout 120 bhp, ull b glad to no the yaris kills it in accelleration! no hope of the st170 keepin up with the cts :D

Had a go with the new Cupra R last night, the guy had 4 other people in his car and I was on my own and he was still leaving me.

hi all, i dont think the cts wud not hav any problems beating a focus st 170 or a fiesta even the 185, i have a cts wiv only an air filter and it was keeping up wiv a civic type R the other day but i think this is from having traction control and it was abit damp. my mate also has a type R and thru 1st and 2nd my corolla edges in front but once the civic gets into high revs in 3rd it slowly pulls away, i think adding a simple quickshift shud sort that out tho lol

It was the mk2 237hp so I guess it makes sense. Could still have been modded but if it wasn’t, they are immensely quick.

well just put the end to ma own debate about an hour ago on 'my own private road' must say was quite impressed with it was never really got to go from standing start only from 3rd.started off from 5 thousand revs he was a bit quicker until lift and then 4th. then a was munchin on his bumper , could have passed him. any 1 familiar with the stirling straights?

think its about 1150 kg m8 which is about 100 less than the cts i think? ye think a would have smoked him jus b cos of the lift takin its time to kick in but it was good till 100, could have took him easy cos it was a big straight. just want ma first run in way the ctr now just 2 c the diffrence for maself. apexi power ecu on the way soon

my mate has ctr had run with him when first got mine they are faster , he had race exhaust and typhoon i had nothing. would be nice to have both standard to compare properly, dont want to open a can of worms lol

haha lol. ye m8 just keep the pennies for a couple of weeks then gonna get rigged up. had a weird 1 tonite m8 it seemed like evry 1 wanted 2 race. smoked this 3 door saab ******** nose what it was , it was quick but a passed him then a 406 which a eventually found out was a 2 litre turbo sri cos he pulled me over . said he couldnt belive how quick it was haha, am well chuffed

I'm confused...you started from 5,000rpm and who was quicker?

i had a similar encounter once, everyone wanted a piece of me, mr2 turbo licked me, but more importantly i managed to keep up and was neck and neck with a 530d or 535d, couldnt tell but i thought i was proud of a 1.8 keeping up with a 30 turbo diesel monster

Was it the current model 5 series? I would say that you would have been at least neck and neck with a 530d 231bhp....if not quicker...they are a big, big car....those 535ds are rapid...without a doubt if it was one of them he would have started pulling away.

They are 105bhp...pmsl would you waste the petrol in trying? The Glanza and T Sport would dust it....in fact the Yaris T-Sport would beat it.

nah m8 mk2b 2004 it was a quick wee car , a remember goin to a cruise and racing all these cars in a car park and the only car wat could beat me was a type r with uprated cams and all the other usual mods. just half a car lenth mind u but we werer only reachin 40 so it would have blown me away other wise.

Had my first run in wiv a st last night.

When not in lift the st was pulling on me but once in lift i was catching him slowly then ran out of road.

Stopped at traffic lights (i was in front) gave it the full wellie, he was wiv me til bout 70 ish then i was pulling on him.

I have no worries that the cts is the quicker car (only when in lift though), the st's are hard to loose round the twistes cos you need to stay in lift comming out of bends or the st will pull away.

nippy little motors though.
