What Could Be Better...?

Picked up our new Avensis on Thursday, and after a weekend of driving, I have to say that I do like it. Good job really ;)

That said, there were a few things that I reckon could be better - nothing fundamental, just little niceties. Toyota could even pick up a thing or two from Skoda, despite all the Skoda jokes...! This isn't really a rant, just thought it would be interesting to see what peoples wish lists for improvements would be - who knows, it might even be added to future models...

That said, I've only had it a couple of days, so some of the things could be user error...!

The things that I reckon that could be better are...

* Sat nav. Why oh why can't you find an address from the full postcode? I guess it's down to the cost of PAF data from the Royal Mail, but it would be so much easier!

* The manual, same as when I had an Impreza - the moments of Japanese-English are quite amusing.

* Cruise control is great, but what I really liked on the Octavia was having a foot rest next to the accelerator. (The cruise control itself is better than the Octavias though, in that the only way of cancelling on the Octavia was braking / depressing the clutch)

* Folding mirrors - would be nice if they had a setting where they would fold in when you locked the car. That way, you can still use the mirrors to make sure that it is safe to open the door, say when you have parked at the side of a road.

* Auto headlights - would be nice if they went off when you locked the car too (or on a timer), not when you open the door. That way, you can use the lights to find your keys, way to the front door etc.

As I said, I'm not being a miserable complaining old bugger having a rant, just a few little things that I think would make the Avensis even better :)
