You All Got Me Thinking....

I went for a test drive in a new Fiat 500 as I want a small city car for nipping around in. On the test drive we went past the Toyota Dealership and I saw a Cheeky Blue Aygo. Whilst unimpressed with the diesel engine I couldnt help get round the fact its also a Fiat. So test drive over I went to Toyota. I have driven a C1 so know what the essence of the car is but I have to say Toyota won the on the design front. The problem I now have is that I cant decide between the Aygo Blue and the Aygo Platinum, Im not into silver cars but like the seats and more importantly the alloys. However the air con and blue tooth are appealing, but then again I would have to buy some alloys for it (anyone bought an aftermarket ones??) as the Mrs wont drive it. lol

What should I do?

Either way they dont budge much on price, £7750 for Platinum was the best he could do, but I might as well wait for 08 plates or the sake of an extra £250.

A few things, how much do you guys get to a tank Urban and what are your experiences of them in terms of cheap hassle free motoring???

Get a Blue and get them to add the Style Pack for free... thats what I did so I got my alloys that way ;)

The bluetooth is essential, I use it all the time! If I had the choice now I'd still get my Blue over a Platinum.... personally I feel you get a lot more for your money with the Blue.

Cheap hassle free motoring - can't fault it to be fair. If you take it for what it is its perfect.... it's no frills motoring at its very best and thats what I love about my car! Cars are meant to be driven, not faffed about with!

"how much do you guys get to a tank Urban"

My wife does 1.5miles to work in a morning, then 6 miles to nursery and 7 miles home in the evening - all urban stop/start traffic. She gets mid 40s mpg. Ticks all the boxes for cheap, hassle free motoring as far as we are concerned.

Push hard for a discount.... whilst the profit margin on an Aygo is not high you should get a few hundred pounds off, otherwise go for a few freebies.

I would never pay extra for the Toyota bluetooth system as there are equally good if not better after market products available at a cheaper price.... so you may want to give this some thought

Good luck with your purchase :)

I had the exact same dilemma - in the end I went for the Platinum with A/C as I just loved the interior and the chunky leather steering wheel, also I prefer the alloys to the style pack ones.

I can't advise on MPG yet as I've not used a full tank, however it's certainly good to drive and I got money back off my insurance too.

I'm sure, whichever you choose, you'll not be disappointed.

As in wait for 08's and buy an 08?

If this is not what you mean then ignore the following: Wait till 08 comes out and then get a 57, Toyota will want to shift them quick and you should get and even better discount

I would personally go for the blue, i think u get a lot more for your money, agree on the alloys tho, anyone with a platinum want to swap?

Let us know what u get!

Hi there.

Driving gently about 10-15 miles from cold, I manage about 48mpg.

Just remember, F.I.A.T. stands for

Fix

Hi this is my first post on here, I too couldn't decide between the two, but finally decided on the Aygo Platinum and had the air con and blue tooth as extras but I did get a good deal after much bargaining. Pick it up on the !st March, I'm so excited :yahoo:

i went for the platinum also...

a/c is a waste of time imo! yes ok so u can look cool in the summer when its roasting outside n uve got ure windows up... but its just not the same as having your windows down! plus it drinks fuel :(

as for bluetooth connectivity... i dont think much of it! get yer hand out your pocket and buy a headset for £20 from ure local phone shop!

the platinum was a far better option imo, although i do wish it came in a different colour... but hey, silvers easier to clean :D

I use my car for work as a community nurse and the first year I did the job I didn't have a/c, now I wouldn't be without it, in the winter it clears the screen very quickly and boosts the heating system. As for Bluetooth I use a head set now and haven't been that happy with it, I feel it's still distracting, I'm looking forward to trying the Bluetooth.

Air-conditioning is a must for me - stuck in a traffic jam in the summer without it would be a nightmare. I like to look respectable when I arrive at work, not all sweaty and my hair looking like I've been dragged backwards through a hedge.

Also.....air conditioning uses less extra fuel on the motorway than having a window open.

Just Shell out the extra for A/C and bluetooth on the Platinum, then you have the best of both worlds.
