Screeching Brakes

Hi, I have a Toyota Avensis t2 d4d, it's about 2.5 years old and has suddenly developed this problem of the brakes making a terrible screeching noise when applied. The noise is only coming from the front driver side, I got the brakes replaced (not by toyota) but the noise is still there, it is really annoying, any suggestions would be great, next step is to take it to toyota, it is still under warranty (although i doubt it covers brakes, just incase it is something else), Thanks

if your applying the bakes.. and u get noises.

9/10 it is the pads that are not sitting properly

or poor grade pads.

Does it happen at certin speeds?

No it happens at any speed 5mph (obviously not as loud though)

I got the same problem on my avensis. Its done 25k on the clock and still running on the original brake pads. Try applying some copper grease to the disk. Got the tip from a local mr t. Did the job

As Captain says. Had this problem several times. Apply the copper grease SPARINGLY to the back of the brake pads where they contact the calipers. Should be fine for a long while.
