:lol: keep them for your eyebrows.

Yeh, think I would check all the obvious stuff first, like the connections/plugs going to the lights. Check for corrosion around the terminals.

It sounds like your not very well kitted up to tackle it anyway but the wiring is generally very robust unless somebody has been tinkering. Do you have a towbar fitted or any other accessories that have been added to the lighting circuit?

Oh and welcome to the club. With a handle like that you should fit in well!

Thats a cracker!! How did you manage that one?? Now everyone will want that mod!!

You haven't fitted a blue flashing light to the top as well....?

Like anchorman, it sounds as if there's a connection or 2 gone wrong, perhaps after fitting a towbar or some other electrical bit. If it was a landrover or a Jaguar, I'd tell you the earth back to the Battery is faulty and the current is just following the easiest path back.

Have you got a leak (of rainwater) getting into the passenger side fusebox or one of the fuseboxes...or even where the relays are stuck?

You could invest in a small circuit tester/multimeter, or if you're not too keen on that then ask an auto-electrician to have a look; when he'she has found and fixed the problem, stab them in the eye with yer tweezers and drive off quick. Then at least yer toolbox has come to some use!

I didn't notice - is it a 3 door or 5 door and what age is the car??

Funnily enough the only thing that works properly on my LR is the lights, despite the dashboard falling off last night! Its getting treated to some new steel wheels as the Wella ones are corroded....ah'll be oot oan the streets the night tae pick the wheels and tyres.......

Not a short, it's a poor earth connection on the rear cluster. The brake lights are earthing through the sides and vice versa.

Don't know the Rav lights but if they're supposed to earth through the mounting bolts then that's the most likely cause; check them for rust and clean if necessary.

Possible bulb fault in either of rear light cluster units, could also be a poor earth connection in light units causing fault.
