Hi There

May seem a daft question but where would i find the pollen filter on my Avensis & is it easy to change-also do i need a toyota filter or do Halfords do a pattern one.

Has anyone also had a problem with water leaking into the drivers side floor-cannot see any obvious leaks so any suggestions welcome.

Cheers

Ade

Unfortuntely this is a dealer part.

Someone on here claimed Halfords did one - But they don't.

I bought one on-line recently. Had to send it back as it was designed for a LH drive car!! (they are different and incompatible so be careful)

The procedure and location is in your owners manual. Its in the footwell (driver's side) Varpet needs to be pulled back. The filter is in two parts. They are VERY expensive. I washed mine by hand as I wasn't going to pay silly money.

Paid about £25 online. Yes they are not an ideal fit as you have to cut some more plastic out of the upper filter to make them fit, but they are ok to use as the filter area is the same as the RHD. Worth changing in my view as the filter area was very very black.

righthand side footwell. left side next to centre console above foot rest (asuming UK model).

remove the plastic carpet retainer and you will see the end of a plastic strip about 6 inches deep and 1 inch wide. spring the clip and slide it out. mark it with a permanent felt pen before you do this as they only go back in one way up.

pull it out and don't open it up until clear of the car. it unfolds like a book so you can vacuum it or wash it if you like.

it's a bit of a b*gger to get back though

The leak into the passenger footwell - Does the car have A/C?

If so, the leak maybe from the A/C water drain pipe that goes from the heater box through the floor/bulkhead.

If it has come off just push it back on and use a cale tie to keep it tight.

If no aircon then it could be from the screen/bulkhead grommet etc.

Mart.
