Ding Ding Round 9

Well, as has become common place on here, its my monthly whine about the shocking reliability of my Compressor! (please read my previous moans)

After the last issue (alternator failure just after a service) i was given a check sheet telling me a rear shocker was leaking and a seal on the timing chain casing was leaking, along with the need to change my rear pads (the cars only done 17k).

so off i went to drop it off at toyota, on the way the Battery light started to flicker so when i got there, i handed it over and picked up the very manly light green aygo, which turned out to be my companion for the weekend.............did'nt feel !Removed! at all............

expecting to pick the car up the next day i waited in anticipation......to no avail, recieved a phone call sayin the shocker has been delayed and it needs a new wiring loom, excellent for a car thats only two years old.

so i finally got the phone call to pick it up, so after an hour sat in traffic (not really toyotas fault but they should hav more dealers!) i arrived and found out that once they changed the pads the discs were cracked and needed replacing, luckily they covered it though warranty and as a brucie they only charged me for the pads and no labour, thats a first!!

so, rant over! but is anyone else finding that toyotas are'nt any where near as reliable as they are reported to be?

Whinge is all I do about mine, 25 to the gallon, rattles more than a maraca, lights always failing, rear view mirror is NEVER in the same place twice, alarm was always going off until I pulled the bonnet switch, etc, etc, etc...

And yes, ever since I got it there always seems to be some issue or other with it, still cant wait for the longer days so that it may be replaced with anything more reliable.

Cheers.

worryingly i had a mg tf before the toyota and it never went wrong! but this thing, yeh its pretty quick...........for about 18 mins before summat breaks and it sits at the dealers while i drive an aygo for a few days! think il start using the opposite rule. if everyone says a cars reliable i will avoid it like the plague and go for the supposidly most unreliable car i can find! im thinkin fiat or alfa.............or maybe summat french...............

Must admit I haven't come across any of the problems that some people have had. I've just had the usual wear and tear (i.e. brake discs/pads, tyres) in all the years I've had my CTS. You must have picked a bad one.

Coming from where my previous car was a peugeot 206 I would say the reliability of the CTS is a million miles away from the french car. I wouldn't buy french again!

Must admit that I'm probably going to move away form Toyota in the future and probably sway towards something German or Honda.

yea our rav 4 has had to have an ecu change and now its got a engine malfunction light on again. The dealers feel so lame and helpless to explain and repair the problem that the car just comes back with another problem.

my corolla has been fine so far but even still they are slow irresponsive especially where i live the dealers are well uptight

surly tho when you buy a tsport or compressor you would think that they where built to do a bit of racing on " tracks" or why else would they build it with all that power from a 1.8 . I understand your point tho if your revving the ****** off it all the time soon enough it will pop and things will break since i had mine mess me about ive had no problems other then th tyres but that was my fault and ive raced it on "tracks" with no problems at all seems the issues i had before where worked out

To be fair to the car the engine/gearbox and all the 'important' bits have never let me down. (fingers crossed) it does get a good thrashing but i was sold it on the premice that it was ready to go straight on the track, well that was merlin motorsports claim when i spoke to them! i think im just doing a public service prooving them wrong...........very wrong.
