Yaris Sr Broke Down

Happened this morning, car refused to start.Engine spinning over but not firing up,so with gritted teeth i had to look under the bonnet.all seemed normal, nothing leaking or loose, nothing been tampered with. I decided to take the plastic engine cover off and check the connections on top of the plugs. took out the plug lead things and used some wd40 on all connections and checked tightness of spark plugs.all was ok,so tried the car again.eventually it spluttered into life but was idling poor for 5mins or so.eventually it was running ok and stayed that way throughout the day. Car's done 79k and plugs were last changed on 56k.owners manual says to change spark plugs every 40k,which seems too long for me.Anyone else had this problem? Seems toyota's are not that reliable after all.very unhappy with this car:(

Just goes to show you shouldnt start slaggin a car saying its unreliable and crap at the first sign of trouble, most likely the trouble has been caused by someone doing something wrong and not the car itself.

Agreed

Seeing as your car has done over 23,000 miles with the wrong plugs and keeps going, I’d say Toyotas ARE reliable and you should be VERY happy with your car
